The Ear of Dionysius is an artificial cave located in the ancient stone quarry known as the Latomia del Paradiso, below the Greek Theater of Syracuse. Excavated in the limestone, it is about 23 m high, 5 to 11 m wide, and runs 65 m deep in an S-shaped pattern that also makes it a place for acoustic amplification of sounds.
